RALEIGH, N.C. . . . North State Bank is enhancing its business banking outreach, adding local industry heavyweight Laura Hawkins as senior vice president and treasury sales officer, announced Amanda Lloyd, executive vice president and chief people officer. Hawkins will work with customers and prospects to understand their cash flow, liquidity, and payment processing needs and will help them leverage treasury solutions to best accomplish their goals.

“As a community bank, one of our primary goals is to serve small- to mid-sized businesses,” Lloyd said. “Over the past 25 years, we’ve consistently grown the products and services that we provide and, as a result, our treasury services are as expansive as those offered by larger banks. We believe there is an opportunity to elevate how we educate and support customers in this area, helping them operate more efficiently and reduce exposure to fraud. Laura has the knowledge and experience to champion this effort by working with our market presidents and others at the bank to strengthen existing relationships and attract new business.”

Hawkins has 21 years of industry experience, including roles with Truist as a commercial client specialist and with PNC as a treasury management officer. A native of Caracas, Venezuela, she’s called Raleigh home for the last 20 years. She is actively involved with the North Carolina Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Hawkins received her undergraduate degree in international business from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.

Hawkins shared, “North State has excelled in meeting and exceeding the needs of business customers, earning the bank a great reputation. Customers appreciate working with bankers who live and work right here; it adds to the synergy of the relationship. I look forward to sharing with customers how they can maximize the impact of treasury services as a key part of their financial strategy.”

Founded in 2000, North State Bank is an independent, full-service community bank serving Wake and New Hanover counties through seven offices. The Bank operates four unique business line divisions: CommunityPLUS—for community management associations, Government Lending—including SBA, Mortgage, and a Specialized Lending Group (SLG) serving developers and builders.
