John Purcell Promoted to Relationship Banking Manager

RALEIGH, N.C. . . . North State Bank (the "Bank") named John Purcell as assistant vice president and relationship banking manager for its West Raleigh office, announced Amanda M. Lloyd, executive vice president and chief people officer. In this position, Purcell will develop and enhance loan and deposit relationships with existing and prospective customers and will oversee office operations. Purcell steps into this role following the retirement of Gina Bunch, who served the Bank’s West Raleigh customers for over 20 years.
“When a beloved veteran banker retires, finding the right person to fill those shoes is critical,” Lloyd said. “In this case, the choice of John Purcell was easy, and the transition will be seamless for our customers. John has been a stalwart in West Raleigh for the past seven years, a stint that includes assisting customers during construction of our new facility and welcoming them once the new office opened. He has worked with Gina and knows this role. He knows our customers and this market and is an asset to the Bank and our customers. While Gina will be missed, we are pleased to have John move into this position and anticipate his contribution at a high level.”
Purcell grew up in Cary and is a graduate of North Carolina State University (NCSU) in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. Prior to joining North State in 2019, he interned in the North Carolina State Legislature and served in progressive internships with NCSU athletics, including in operations for the Wolfpack baseball team, where he enhanced his leadership and managerial skills. He lives in Apex.

I enjoy working here and representing North State Bank and look forward to serving as relationship banking manager.
