RALEIGH, N.C. . . . North State Bank (the “Bank”) has expanded its team in Wilmington with the addition of Stevie Mitchell as a vice president and mortgage loan officer, announced Amanda Lloyd, executive vice president and chief people officer for the Bank.
"Stevie is an experienced mortgage lender with a deep passion for the Wilmington area and a strong understanding of the local housing market," shared Lloyd. "We are pleased to have him as part of our team, helping our customers realize the dream of homeownership while guiding them with the insight that comes from truly knowing this community."
Mitchell began his career in the mortgage industry in 2012 at Virginia Heritage Bank in Chantilly, Virginia, and has served in roles of increasing responsibility since then. Most recently, he served as vice president and senior mortgage loan officer at Freedom Bank of Virginia. A native of Herndon, Virginia, where he was elected to the Town Council and served a 30-month term, Mitchell earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He moved back to Wilmington in 2018 and has called it his “adopted home” since. He is fluent in the Spanish language and taught it at Williston Middle School in Wilmington and in
Nosara, Costa Rica.
“I’m excited to be part of the North State team,” Mitchell said. “One of the things I enjoy most about this area is that Wilmington draws everyone from first-time buyers to retirees and second-home owners, and each person has different goals. I like helping customers understand their financing options early in the process so they know what to expect and can be ready when they find the right home.”
Founded in 2000, North State Bank is an independent, full-service community bank serving Wake and New Hanover counties through seven offices. The Bank operates four unique business line divisions: CommunityPLUS—for community management associations, Government Lending, Mortgage, and a Specialized Lending Group (SLG) serving developers and builders.
