RALEIGH, N.C. . . . North State Bank (the “Bank”) named Andrew T. Wheeler Jr. as senior vice president and Small Business Administration (SBA) business development officer for its Government Lending division, announced Larry Moran, president of Government Lending.

In this role, Wheeler will help business owners, executives and entrepreneurs secure the funds they need to help their companies grow and thrive. He moves into this position after serving as the Bank’s market president for West Raleigh.

“Andrew has a strong and diverse banking background,” commented Moran. “He has over a decade of experience working with companies from the Triangle and eastern North Carolina. He knows the challenges and opportunities small businesses face, which gives him great insight into how to support their financing needs.”

Wheeler is a native of Wilson, NC, and moved to Raleigh while earning his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University. He also is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Banking at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is licensed as a realtor through the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. “This position directly connects with my passion of fueling small businesses for success,” shared Wheeler. “The unique benefits of an SBA loan can go a long way in helping business owners have what they need—from increasing working capital to refinancing debt or making a significant purchase.”
