RALEIGH, N.C. . . . Matthew “Matt” Austin has joined North State Bank (the “Bank”) as a commercial loan portfolio manager for the Garner office announced Amanda Lloyd, executive vice president and chief people officer. Austin has worked in financial services for 13 years, recently relocating to Garner from Kill Devil Hills. His experience includes serving as a market president for Wells Fargo, as well as in other business banking positions with Southern Bank and Towne Bank.
“Matt has a passion for helping others and extensive business lending experience,” said Lloyd. “Those two qualities are exactly what our customers are looking for from their lending partner. He’s a great complement to our Garner team.”
Austin is an alumnus of East Carolina University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with concentrations in social studies and science. In Kill Devil Hills, he was active in the community, serving as a member and past president of the Kitty Hawk Rotary Club, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the Roanoke Island Historical Association and the Dare Education Foundation.
“To be a good lender, you have to be a good listener,” shared Austin. “I enjoy hearing people’s stories. I pay attention to the particulars and use those insights to help match their unique situations with solutions. I’m happy to call Garner home and I look forward to connecting with the community.”
