Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer
RALEIGH, N.C. . . . Gretchen McPherson has joined North State Bank (the “Bank”) as a commercial loan portfolio manager serving customers at the Bank’s Garner and West Raleigh offices, announced Amanda Lloyd, executive vice president and chief people officer.
“We are thrilled to welcome Gretchen aboard,” shared Lloyd. “Along with her traditional banking expertise, she has experience working for a community bank known nationwide for its innovative culture. Her background is a perfect fit for North State Bank’s vision of continually evolving and improving our products and processes.”
In this role, McPherson will serve the Bank’s existing commercial customers and expand North State’s reach into the Garner and Blue Ridge Corridor business communities. She recently relocated back to her home state of North Carolina, after living in the Pacific Northwest for ten years where she worked at Umpqua Bank as a senior commercial underwriter and commercial portfolio manager. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science with a major in finance and banking.
“In banking, every day there is an opportunity to learn,” shared McPherson. “I enjoy learning what my customers are passionate about and how they turn those passions into businesses. My love of numbers and metrics attracted me to commercial banking but, it’s the people I work with and serve who make it a fulfilling profession.”
