RALEIGH, N.C. . . . Jim Evans joined the staff of North State Bank’s downtown Raleigh office as a commercial loan portfolio manager, announced Amanda Lloyd, executive vice president and chief people officer.

In this role, Evans will work with business executives and owners to provide lending solutions. He is an industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, most recently working at Bank of North Carolina.

“The best lenders not only know banking but understand what it takes to run a business,” commented Lloyd. “Jim has that expertise along with a proven track record of helping companies secure the financing they need to grow and thrive.”

A Virginia Beach native, Evans has lived in Chapel Hill for 16 years. He completed his undergraduate studies at Davidson College, earning a bachelor of arts in economics, and then went to the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School where he received his MBA. He is on the board of the YMCA of the Triangle, president of the Orange County Small Business Loan Fund, and a member of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Sunrise Rotary Club.

“I enjoy banking because it gives me the opportunity to engage with and help people every day,” shared Evans. “From someone starting out to those who have been in business for years, it’s exciting to be part of the fabric of their lives and their businesses.”
