Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer
RALEIGH, N.C. . . . North State Bank (the “Bank”) has promoted Casey Atwater to senior vice president and West Raleigh market president, announced Amanda Lloyd, executive vice president and chief people officer.
In this role, Atwater will lead the Bank’s efforts to serve businesses and individuals in the growing West Raleigh area. He moves to this position after serving as a commercial banker for the Bank’s Downtown Raleigh office.
“Casey is a natural for this role,” shared Lloyd. “The West Raleigh area, anchored in part by the Blue Ridge Corridor, is poised for continued and dynamic growth. Casey is highly involved in the community, a skilled banker, an energetic leader and connects easily with customers—all building blocks for success in this position.”
With nearly two decades of financial services experience, Atwater joined the Bank in early 2017, following positions at BB&T, Fidelity Bank and Central Carolina Bank (now SunTrust). An alumnus of North Carolina State University, he holds a bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in finance. He took a brief hiatus from banking to work with award-winning chef and author Vivian Howard from the Chef & the Farmer in Kinston, North Carolina and has appeared in episodes of “A Chef’s Life” on PBS.
Atwater is a Leadership Raleigh 36 graduate and Leadership Raleigh 38 chairman for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. He serves on the board of Wake County’s Capital Area Preservation and is a supporter of many civic organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Trentini Foundation and the YMCA We Build People campaign.
“I’m excited about this opportunity and look forward to immersing myself further into the West Raleigh community,” commented Atwater. “I believe banking is about helping people and this position enhances my ability to support others as they pursue their goals.”
