FARISH NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND CREDIT ADMINISTRATION OFFICER FOR NORTH STATE BANK

January 31, 2007

Raleigh, N.C. - North State Bank executive vice president and chief credit officer Gerry Rogers announced that Walker Farish has been named senior vice president and credit administration officer for North State Bank.

"As our bank grows, we are adding people who help contribute to the success of our company," said Rogers. "Walker brings solid knowledge and experience of credit administration, and I know he will assist us this critical division of the bank."

Farish has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry. He began his career following graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Relations. Farish comes to North State Bank from RBC Centura Bank in Rocky Mount, NC, where he served as senior manager of small business credit. A native of Wake Forest, he and his wife live in Rocky Mount, and have two children. Farish is an active member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Rocky Mount, as well as the YMCA.

Founded in 2000, North State is a full-service community bank, serving Wake County through five full-services offices and New Hanover County through one loan production office. Plans are being developed for a full-service office to be located at 16 W. Martin Street, Raleigh, NC, where a lease has been signed.
