RALEIGH, N.C. - Three members of the management team for North State Bank have been promoted to executive vice president, announced Larry D. Barbour, president and CEO of North State.
Gerry Rogers, chief credit officer; Sandra Temple, chief operating officer; and Kirk Whorf, chief financial officer; were all named executive vice presidents of the Bank following a recent meeting of the Board of Directors.
"It is a pleasure to recognize these individuals for their hard work and success," said Barbour. "They are truly committed to our core values and to the success of North State Bank. To a great extent, their leadership has brought us this far and we will continue to reap the benefit of the skills and dedication they bring to our Company and our customers."
Rogers has been in banking for 35 years, having started his career at The Fidelity Bank in Fuquay-Varina, his hometown. After working with financial institutions in Wake County for 13 years, he moved to Florida where he served in banking as a vice president and business banking group manager, as well as president and chief executive officer. Returning to North Carolina, he joined Triangle Bank as manager for Special Assets, Collections and Loan Operations. Gerry is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his degree in Economics. He and his wife, Judy, have two grown children, Katie and John, and reside in Raleigh.
Temple has been with North State Bank for more than five years, contributing more than twenty years of banking experience in Wake County. Prior to joining North State, she worked for Triangle Bank as vice president of cash management operations, vice president of branch operations, branch manager, and as both a consumer and commercial lender. She is treasurer for the North Carolina Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and is a member of the Banking Committee for the CAI National. She volunteers for the N.C. Kidney Foundation and is a former member of the Raleigh Host Lions Club. A native of Wendell, NC, Sandra and her husband, Terry, live in Wendell.
Whorf joined North State prior to the opening of the Bank, coming from Triangle Bank where he served as senior vice president and funds manager. Prior to that, he held positions in the banking industry as EDP audit manager, transaction services manager, and chief financial officer. He holds a degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, and is a certified public accountant. A native of Maryland, he lives in Raleigh with his wife, Barbara, and daughter.
Founded in 2000, North State Bank is a full service community bank, currently serving Wake County through five offices: a headquarters and new banking office at North Hills in Raleigh, full-service offices on Falls of Neuse Road and Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh, a full-service office on Highway 70 West in Garner, and a loan production office at Wakefield Corporate Center in Wake Forest.
