NORTH STATE BANK’S SUMMER SALUTE FOR HOSPICE OF WAKE COUNTY NEARS $500,000 IN PROCEEDS

October 2, 2007

Raleigh, NC. . . North State Bank’s 2007 Summer Salute for Hospice of Wake County raised $128,000, announced Larry D. Barbour, president and CEO for North State Bank. This brings the event’s four-year total to $483,000. All proceeds benefit Hospice of Wake County.

“Our bank is deeply committed to the communities we serve,” said Barbour. “Giving back to Hospice of Wake County is a true honor for us, as the organization continues to serve the families of Wake County, giving meaning and quality to end of life. I am grateful to our dedicated sponsors, event attendees, planning committee and volunteers who helped make our fourth Summer Salute a huge success. I look forward to our fifth year of hosting the event, as we approach $500,000 in proceeds to Hospice.”

The event was held on June 2 at North Ridge Country Club, and guests danced the night away to beach music tunes sung by Raleigh’s own, The Embers. Contributions were raised through sponsorships, ticket sales, a raffle, an auction and other donations.

Hospice of Wake County will use the money raised to help fund their indigent patient care fund, which helps to cover the cost of the salaries of professional staff, the purchase of prescription medications for patients, rental of durable medical equipment, and emergency assistance.

Summer Salute gold sponsors included Barton Development Group, Caddell Communications, PPM, Inc., Red Star Oil, Inc., Stancil and Company, Steel Dynamics, and Wake Nephrology Associates, PA, Wakefield Hotels, LLC/ Hema and Nick Shah/Gail and Hal Perry.
