TANNERY NAMED ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT AND OFFICE MANAGER FOR NORTH STATE BANK

January 24, 2008

Wilmington, N.C. – North State Bank senior vice president and Wilmington market executive Phil Whittington announced that Paula Tannery has been named assistant vice president and office manager for North State Bank.

“Paula will be an excellent addition to our new office here in Wilmington,” said Whittington. “As office manager, she will oversee the daily functioning of our office, but she will also play a key role in deposit gathering and customer service. I am excited to have Paula join our team.”

A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Tannery earned degree in business administration from Peace College. She is also a graduate of the American Banker’s Association School of Compliance Management. Prior to joining North State Bank, she served as a loan closing coordinator with Paragon Commercial Bank in Raleigh. She also previously worked as vice president of compliance and manager of audit department with Triangle Bank. Tannery serves as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Founded in 2000, North State Bank is a full-service community bank, serving Wake and New Hanover counties through seven full-service offices. The new Wilmington office opened in January and is located at 1411 Commonwealth Drive, at the corner of Eastwood Road and Military Cutoff Road.
