Raleigh, N.C. . . Phillip T. Whittington, Jr. has been named senior vice president and senior commercial banker for North State Bank in Raleigh, announced Larry D. Barbour, president and CEO for North State. Whittington previously spent more than 22 years in the Wilmington, NC banking market, where he focused on lending and served in several management positions.
We are pleased to have someone with Phils experience, said Barbour. Customers will be pleased with the level of knowledge and expertise he offers, and our bank will benefit as well.
For Whittington, joining North State Bank is a return to his native town of Raleigh. He attended North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina School of Banking, and the Wake Forest University Wachovia Corporate Finance Program.
Whittington and his wife, Patricia, reside in Raleigh.
