ROBERTS NAMED ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT FOR NORTH STATE BANK

Raleigh, NC. . . Frances Roberts has been named assistant vice president for loan operations at North State Bank, announced Walter G. "Gerry" Rogers, senior vice president and chief credit officer for the Bank.

"We are pleased to have Frances move into this new role," said Rogers. "She has demonstrated great ability in this area of our operations and we look forward to having her experience working for our customers in a greater capacity."

Roberts joined North State in 2001 as a loan operations specialist. Prior to that, she worked in the financial industry as a banking officer in commercial loan operations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Carolina University. A native of Whiteville, NC, Roberts and her husband, Steven, currently reside in Raleigh.

Founded in 2000, North State Bank is a full-service community bank, currently serving Wake County through four offices: full-service offices on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh, Blue Ridge Road in West Raleigh, Highway 70 West in Garner, and a loan production office at Wakefield Corporate Center in Wake Forest, NC. It is anticipated that the Bank's new headquarters and banking office will open near the beginning of March 2005 at the new North Hills on Six Forks Road in Raleigh, NC. North State Bancorp ended 2004 with $309.4 million in assets.
