Helen Ballentine serves North State Bank as senior vice president and senior market executive in our West Raleigh market. She has 23 years of banking experience, holding positions with Nations Credit Financial Services and, most recently, as senior vice president and client manager for Bank of America. She has volunteered for the Cumberland County Partnership for Children and independently works to find homes for abandoned pets. Helen attended Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC.
 

Jeffery Billingsley

Jeff Billingsley serves North State Bank as a senior vice president and market executive. He has more than ten years of experience in the banking industry, including recent positions as a commercial banker and small business banker. A graduate of Fayetteville State University, he is actively involved in the community, serving as chairman of the Ten-Year Action Plan to End Homelessness in Wake County. Jeff is also a member of the Fayetteville State University Mentoring Program. He is currently attending the UNC School of Banking. 
 
Christopher R. Bruffey

Chris Bruffey serves North State Bank as senior vice president and market executive. A Garner native, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He served the Garner area for six years as a branch manager, small business banker, and city executive for Wachovia. Active in the community, Chris is past president of the Garner Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Garner Rotary Club.
Jonathan Hand

Jonathan Hand serves North State Bank as senior vice president and senior market executive for the North Raleigh office. He has more than 15 years of banking experience, holding positions such as market president, middle market client manager, and relationship manager. Jonathan serves on the board of directors for the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Economic Development and Government Affairs Committees for the Chamber.  He also serves on the board of directors for the Kerr Banks Family YMCA and is a volunteer for the We Build People Campaign. Jonathan is also a board member for the Trentini Foundation. A graduate of East Carolina University, he holds a bachelor's degree in finance. He is currently attending the UNC School of Banking.
 
Sharon Moe

Sharon Moe serves North State Bank as vice president and market executive for our downtown Raleigh office. She has experience in positions such as branch manager, senior credit portfolio analyst and commercial lender. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian Studies from The College of William and Mary. From there she went on to study at NYU Leonard N. Stern School of Business where she earned her MBA in Finance.
Matt Robinson

Market Executive

Matt serves our Wake Forest office as the market executive. He has several years of banking experience in positions such as associate client manager, business banker, and banking center manager. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Matt gives back to his community by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, the Tammy Lynn Center, and Meals on Wheels of Wake County. He is currently enrolled in the UNC School of Banking.
Sabrina Stephens

Sabrina Stephens serves North State Bank as a senior vice president and market executive.  She has more than 19 years of North Carolina banking experience in the Wilmington area. Sabrina’s previous experience includes serving as a senior vice president and commercial banking officer at New Bridge Bank and as a vice president and business services officer at BB&T. Sabrina holds a degree from Appalachian State University and enjoys being an active member of the Wilmington community.  She is a board member for the American Red Cross Cape Fear Chapter in addition to volunteering for United Way and the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce. Sabrina also serves on the finance and building committees at Grace United Methodist Church and was the former president of the board for the Wilmington Children’s Museum.
Gary L. Woodlief

Gary Woodlief serves North State Bank as senior vice president and chief business development officer for CommunityPLUS, a division created to serve the banking needs of community association management companies. He played an integral role in laying the foundation for our Wake Forest office. A graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in finance, his banking career of more than 18 years has primarily been in the Wake Country/Triangle area.  Gary serves on the Board of Directors for the Risk Management Association, the advisory board for the Alexander Family YMCA and the Champions Group for the Wake Med Foundation. He served as Corporate Chair of the 2008 Leukemia and Lymphoma Light the Night Walk.  He previously volunteered in the Education First Program at Lockhart Elementary and has served on the board of directors for the Knightdale Chamber, East Wake Alliance and the Banks Kerr Family YMCA.
